Cultural Healing
It's been a tough year to say the least. The upcoming year is looking brighter.
What a year!
As painful as the last year has been, Israeli culture has brought comfort, healing, inspiration, and a heightened sense of belonging for many.
My own healing process from all of the pain this year has included a huge amount of Israeli music and extensive learning about other areas of culture - the results of which are these posts.
Beyond the hope for better days ahead, I’m especially looking forward to bringing you lots of light and entertaining content here on these weekly posts and also with regular podcast episodes - about half the season is already set and there are some gems in store for you!
Listen here to catch up and get ready for a new season after Sukkot.
Flipping the Script
I’ve personally never been prouder to be a Jew and an Israeli. Out of the dark and the storm comes light and a new beginning.
A year of hate and pain can lead to a year of hope and love. We can bring that out in many ways - one of which is embracing Israeli culture and all that it offers.
As we’ve seen, Israeli culture includes so many pieces - film, food, music, sports, etc. - there is something for everyone and connecting with one, a few, or all of these will quite likely bring you closer to Israel.
I hope that the upcoming year brings healing, peace, and hope. I warmly recommend that you seek out an Israeli song, movie, or book. When the news starts to slow down a bit, the connection that many of us have felt more strongly over the last year can be carried on beyond the news.
I will do my part here to bring you the latest and greatest parts of Israeli culture, but the ball remains in your court to really internalize the content and to seek it out for yourself.
